Pretend Lemonade Stand (Counting Coins)

A play cash register and pretend coins turn lemonade sales into a math lesson.

Steps

1. Set up a small table as a “lemonade stand” with cups and a pitcher, real or pretend.
2. Give your preschooler a handful of play coins and a small cash box.
3. Take turns being the customer and the seller, counting out coins for each “purchase.”
4. Practice counting the coins together at the end to see how much was “earned.”
