A small pot, some soil, and a seed — a first lesson in patience and growth.

Steps

1. Fill a small pot with potting soil, leaving room near the top.
2. Let your preschooler poke a hole with their finger and drop in a seed — beans and sunflowers sprout fast and are satisfying.
3. Cover the seed with soil and water it together.
4. Check on it daily and place it somewhere sunny — track its growth on a simple chart.
